C&G’s Guide to Staying Cool in Melbourne

Tips & Advice

It’s no secret that Summer is here to stay! Baysiders are certainly basking in the glorious sunlight and perfecting our tans at the beach. However, some days it does get a bit too sultry and you might find yourself craving some cold. That’s why C&G are here with our latest blog – it’s filled with fun and chilly activities to take your mind off the forty-degree days! Check it out!

Go ice skating

Step inside a chilly ice rink and leave the scorching sun outside. Most Melburnians are familiar with O’Brien Icehouse in Docklands but you can stay Bayside and check out Skateworld Mordialloc. Both will offer a range of sessions and competitive prices for both adults and children. Whether you’re a seasoned figure skater or curious to test your talent, ice skating is an enjoyable and chilly activity for everyone!

Chill out at IceBar

Some could argue it’s the coolest place to hang out in Melbourne! IceBar is the only one of its kind in Australia, and can be easily found in the Atrium at Federation Square. Wrap yourself in cosy snow capes and enjoy the hand carved ice sculptures while sipping on chilly cocktails. If things get too cold, you can even step outside for a warm coffee before heading back into this winter wonderland. You can book your tickets here!

Enjoy the St Kilda Sea Baths

Head to Jacka Boulevard and spend a relaxing day at the St Kilda Sea Baths! The open-air ocean vibes perfectly complement any summer’s day, and you will be able to enjoy the many special offers and events from the area’s restaurants, cafes, and gyms. This is a wonderful idea for your next family bonding day, or gathering of friends.

Escape to Funfields

If you don’t mind a rewarding hour’s drive, take a trip to the exciting Funfields Water Themepark in Whittlesea! This is Victoria’s largest theme park, with attractions such as a volcano themed heated wave pool, heaps of waterslides, mini golf, pirate ships and more. The little ones will certainly have the time of their lives!
