What’s On This Weekend Bayside

Local Community

The summer is drawing closer, which means it’s goodbye to nights curled up under a blanket, and hello social life.
C&G have been on the lookout for the hot goings on, so here’s what’s on in Bayside this weekend.

1. Ben & Jerry’s Open Air Cinema

St Kilda Beach plays host to the kick off night of Open Air Cinema with The Walk staring Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Throughout December, late night movies will be shown on the beach where you can sit back, relax and sip on a refreshing drink and enjoy some food truck treats.

2. Australian Animal Protection Society Christmas Markets

Starting to think about buying some Christmas presents? Top marks if you’ve already started! This Sunday, pop into the Christmas markets in Keysborough and browse the craft, gifts and food stalls. Oh, and your pets are welcome too! You can even have a family photo for your Christmas cards.

3. Saturday Garden Escape

In aid of charity St Kilda Mums, a local Brighton resident has opened up her stunning garden from 10.30am-5.00pm for visitors to explore. Pick up some seedlings or homemade preserves, sip on a cuppa and enjoy the sausage sizzle in the sun.

4. An Event for the Gents

Brand new market hosted by Prahran Town Hall, Event for the Gents, is opening this weekend. Ideal for the fashionable chap, stalls include Hawkers Beer and The Bearded Man. You’ll find everything from men’s fashion to gadgets, and of course, some tasty food and drink. Treat the man in your life to a market experience exclusively for him!

5. NICA National Circus Centre Show: Born in Sawdust

The closing night of this spectacular circus show held in Prahran is this Saturday. A stunning performance that’ll leave the whole family mesmerised follows the story of young circus performers and their journey to the top – dealing with grief and heartache along the way.

6. Luna Park Night Rider Special

Summer is made for family visits to Luna Park. An icon of St Kilda, this Friday night you can enjoy 2-for-1 unlimited riding.

7. Port Melbourne Street Festival

The annual Christmas party at Bay Street, Port Melbourne is being held this Friday. Start the summer night parties with a bang and bring the whole family for choir singing and Christmas festivities.

8. Christmas Market at Arts Centre

Okay, okay, we know. It’s not bang on Bayside, but the Arts Centre Christmas market is not to be missed. Showcasing nothing but locally produced food, crafts and gifts, it’s the perfect place to start feeling Christmassy.
