They’re Creepy and Kooky … The C&G Family! Halloween 2014

Local Community

Okay, okay – we realise that Halloween is not a strictly Australian holiday celebration. But that’s no reason to abscond from some kitschy, silly old hallow’s eve fun! Get your spook on with C&G as we present the spookiest, spine-tingliest and most squeal-worthy Halloween events for big ghouls, little ghosts and freaky families. A trick or treat for everyone!

Trunk or Treat at the Elsternwick Cricket Club

Held by the American Women’s Association as a fundraiser for the Royal Children’s Hospital you just KNOW that this family-friendly Halloween is going to be fun. Held on October 26, the Trunk or Treat event is a safe and enjoyable way for the whole family to dress up and participate in a little good-humoured trick or treating. With costume contests (including a contest for the spookiest trunk), parades and American-style food trucks, plan for a fun, candy-fuelled day out.  Click here for details

The Spooktober Haunted House

Held in naturally-spooky Malvern East (just joshing!) at 100-year old manse Gable Mansions, the Spooktober Haunted House is a true Halloween extravaganza. Filled with live actors, quality effects and a range of direct-from-USA scary props, you’re in for a real scream! After you’ve recovered from your mini-haunting, there’s a range of activities to enjoy in the Gable’s gardens including food stalls, games, pumpkin crafts, costume competitions and cookie decorating.  This year’s theme is ‘Brothers Grimm’, so put your thinking cap on and costume extravagantly. Adults Only – Halloween Costume Parties

Partial to a bit of a zombie shuffle yourself? Don’t mind binging on The Walking Dead? If you’re over 18 and enjoy a good scare, you’ll probably be OK to attend Melbourne Halloween’s Zombie Apocalypse House. Held on Highlander Lane in the city on Saturday 25th October from 2:00pm - midnight, arrive early for free scary makeup before braving the haunted house. A maze filled with hungry, hungry zombies awaits you – if you survive, you’ll end up in the party-zone of ‘The Sanctuary’ where you can dance and drink as the world falls down. Scary enough for you? Good. Click here for tickets and details.
