Local Community

The developers behind C&G’s all new Elwood House have just been awarded the prestigious Frederick Romberg Award for their Upper House development in Carlton. Today, C&G let you peep inside the work of Piccolo, and explore the other category winners from the Australian National Architecture Awards.

Upper House – Winner of Frederick Romberg Award

Work of architect Jackson Clements Burrows, Upper House is a uniquely stylish development in the heart of Carlton. Comprising two distinct apartment buildings – The Podium and The Cloud – provide stunning views of Melbourne and sit elevated above the Carlton skyline.

Moonlight Cabin – Winner of National Commendation

Another masterpiece of Jackson Clements Burrows, Moonlight Cabin sits on the far south west coast of Victoria. Designed with sustainable gum timber, the urban escape property can be adapted to the weather conditions.

NewActon Precincts – Winner of Walter Burley Griffin Award

The category of Urban Design was dominated by NewActon Precincts, transforming an area of Canberra into an area of diverse community spirit, contemporary urban architecture and immense opportunity.

Tower House – Winner of Eleanor Cullis-Hill Award

Architect Andrew Maynard transformed a Victorian home into a small village through clever expansion into the owners’ garden. Dubbing the development a ‘tardis’, Maynard explains how from the outside the spaces appear vast and dominating while on the inside, spaces interconnect perfectly creating a seamless home interior.
