Local Community

The world’s third largest comedy festival is coming soon to Melbourne, running from the 28th March to the 22nd April. With over 500 shows on offer, deciding who to see can be overwhelming – which is why we’re offering a helping hand. Here is C&G’s guide to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival (MICF) 2018.

Natalie Palamides - Laid

Hailing from America and taking home the award for best newcomer at the 2017 Edinburgh Comedy Awards, Natalie Palamides’ show Laid is one for the calendar. Described by the Comedy Bureau as a bit mad, playful and charismatic - you won’t be smiling if you miss this up-and-coming talent.

Kitty Flanagan – Smashing

One of Australia’s most well-known comedians hits the stage with her fresh show Smashing.

This is certainly one for the adults, so leave the kids at home and expect an array of love songs, algorithms, chimps, clowns and psychics. Tickets selling quickly here.

Dave Hughes – The Snorkeler

There is a good reason Hughesy sells out theatres nationally - he just keeps getting better year after year. Back this March and April with a new show titled the Snorkeler, this comic genius is not to be missed. Get in early to secure your tickets and see what all the fuss is about.

Alex and Luke's Make Your Parents Disappear: Revenge of the Parents!

Entertaining the kids for the night? Look no further than Alex and Luke’s Make Your Parents Disappear. Famous for having made it to the finale of reality television series Australia’s Got Talent, Alex and Luke return to the MICF to deliver a clever and ‘super-fun’ show from start to finish aimed at kids from 5-12. The Adelaide Theatre guide their show high praise with 4 stars, claiming it’s a ‘delight… regardless of age’. Playing at the Arts Centre, get your tickets here.

Cheap Tuesdays

On a budget to save for your mortgage deposit? No worries - cheap Tuesdays are here to save the day (and your wallet)! Many of big-name shows are offered at a lower price on Tuesdays, so keep your eyes peeled for great deals.
