C&G’s Guide to Show Your Heart 2020

Tips & Advice

Show Your Heart 2020 is a fundraising program run by HeartKids, designed to raise money and awareness for Congenital Heart Disease. Chisholm and Gamon have some wonderful team members participating this February, so we’ve rounded up some ways you can also get involved. Read on!

According to the HeartKids website, Congenital Heart Disease is very common among infant children and can lead to fatal consequences. Children who are lucky to survive remain affected for the rest of their lives, often requiring ongoing treatment and support. Fortunately, with organisations like HeartKids around, there is hope for better treatments and care through research. This is predominately funded through generous donations and fundraising efforts, which are achievable and perfect if you need to incorporate more exercise into your daily routine.

When dealing with matters of the heart, there is nothing more appropriate than getting your own heart beating! The official challenge this February is to run 44 kilometres – a symbolic gesture for the 4 children that lose their lives to Congenital Heart Disease each week.

Simply start a fundraising page that can be easily shared to your family and friends. It’s so much easier when you have a support team rallying for you. If you own a smartphone or smartwatch, you can easily track your progress throughout the event. We’re all different, so you can smash it out within a couple of weeks, take it slow, or even gather a group of friends to join you. You’ll all be supporting a great and relevant cause, while boosting your lifestyle with some extra cardio!
