C&G's Guide to Celebrating Spring in Melbourne

Tips & Advice

Melbournians rejoice, as the long-awaited change of season is almost upon us! September not only ushers in sunnier days, it also plays host to an amazing array of events not to be missed. In this blog, C&G unpack the best of them, covering everything from fashion shows to flower festivals, you’re bound to find something that piques your interest.

Rain Room

ACMI and Jackalope have collaborated to bring to Melbourne ‘Rain Room’, an immersive art installation designed in London by Random International. Unlike a typical Melbourne downpour, visitors to the installation will stay bone dry thanks to the use of motion sensors that ensure a dry six-metre radius around guests. It has previously exhibited in iconic venues around the world, such as the Barbican in London and MoMA in New York. Believe us when we say it’s worth the hype!

This sartorial showcase is held annually and spans nine days and over 150 events, from runways to designer markets and pop-ups. Without a doubt, the highlight of the program is the highrise runway, which will take place on the top floor of the Eureka Tower. For those agoraphobic members of the public, keep your feet firmly on the ground at Vogue’s Fashion Night Out, which includes exclusive retail offers across the city.
