C&G’s Guide to Boxing Day Sales

Tips & Advice

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Why? Three words – Boxing Day sales. Oh, and not to mention the quality time spent with friends and family, the abundance of festive food, and the gifting and giving of presents! Tomorrow's agenda might be to hit the shops – online or in-store – or perhaps even both. Treating yourself or getting in some (very) last-minute Christmas shopping? The latest C&G blog highlights ways to make the most of the shopping event of the year.

Be prepared

Sales will start as soon as the clock strikes midnight on Boxing Day – some may even begin online the day before. If you’re not ready and raring to go, there’s a good chance you’ll miss out on that item you’ve been eyeing off.

Finder has prepared a guide to Boxing Day Sales for 2019. With a searchable list of Australia’s top fashion, tech, beauty, homewares and toy brands – you certainly won’t be disappointed for choice!

Shop local

Avoid the city crowds on Boxing Day and visit the variety of Bayside stores and boutiques to snaffle up a bargain. Even if these stores are not open during the Christmas holidays, there’s a good chance they will at some point offer discounts to make way for fresh stock in the New Year. From gifts and homewares to locally designed children’s goods and women’s apparel, a small list of our teams’ favourite boutiques include:

ECO D. – Black Rock

Hello Willow – Elwood

Pod. – Port Melbourne

Shop online

What’s better than shopping? Shopping from the comfort of home while eating Christmas Day leftovers from the comfort of your bed. Why wouldn’t you take advantage of the Christmas sales online? Other benefits to doing a digital Boxing Day include skipping the lines and the trouble of finding parking.

Plan ahead for 2020

You may have been lucky enough to score some things on your wish list over Christmas, so mark them off and start making a new list for 2020 – after all, you can never be too prepared. Valentine Day, birthdays or even Christmas presents for next year… how quickly time flies!
