This Weekend in Mount Martha….

Local Community

Mount Martha is a top-notch place to be; Chisholm & Gamon would know… one of our offices is there! Whether you’re just visiting or making a sea change, today we’d like to show you some fun and fancy things that are coming up on the Mornington Peninsula.

This weekend is your last chance to catch the 2014 Archibald Prize at the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery. Open 10am to 5.30pm all weekend, there’s still plenty of time to have a good look! The MPRG has been the only gallery in Victoria to present the prestigious Archibald entries. If you don’t quite make it there this weekend, don’t fret; there is always something fascinating on exhibition

The Mornington Peninsula is home to smorgasbord of fine foods and wines for you to enjoy at restaurants, vineyards and farm-direct, and they are all compiled at Wine, Food and Farmgate for your convenience. Pick a map for one of the trail themes, and wonder up and down the Peninsula seeing where the food and wine is made or grown, enjoying tastes while you’re there, and even taking some home for later!

There’s always a selection of markets to potter about at on the Peninsula, including some fun school events. Be sure not to miss the Bittern Primary School spring festival, the Somerville Secondary College twilight market, and the Mount Eliza Primary School Christmas market!

For some good old-school entertainment, do visit the drive in cinema at Dromana. With new and old films showing on three screens, there’s something to please everyone! Cuddle up in the car, or bring camping chairs, and settle in to watch some flicks. Bring a blanket, even on warm days, in case the sea breeze sweeps through you! To continue the theme, pick up some dinner or snacks at Shel’s Diner
