Melbourne becomes even more of a global fashion hot-spot this month with the Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival, hitting catwalks from the 14th – 22nd March. Runway fashion shows, seminars and forums, films, tours, high teas, music and wine are taking over the streets of our town; but with such an eclectic mix of events and such little time to enjoy them, just what is a fashion lover to do? Fashion Industry Forums

When: Wednesday 18 March

Where: Conference Hall, Crown Conference Centre

Delve into the inner workings of the fashion industry with some of its most established and inspiring identities at one of VAMFF’s Fashion Industry Forums. There are two forums to choose from, both hosted by Glynis Traill-Nash, Fashion Editor for The Australian. A must-attend event for the die-hard fashion lover, these forums explore local industry topics in an intimate, conversational atmosphere. Express Yourself: Romance Was Born for Kids

When: Until Sunday 22 March

Where: National Gallery of Victoria

Ticket Price: Free

Part of VAMFF’s cultural program, the National Gallery of Victoria is offering young fashion lovers and their families the opportunity to explore a vibrant, interactive exhibition until Sunday 22 March. Express Yourself runs Tuesdays to Sundays from 10am – 5pm, and includes energetic art displays, fashion and multimedia. The project is the creation of Sydney-based designers Romance Was Born, and encourages children to ‘express themselves’ through drawings and accessory making at the exhibition. Fashion Film Series

When: Until Sunday 22 March

Where: Docklands and Federation Square

Ticket Price: Free

Showing at participating cinemas nationwide until Sunday 15 March – including the gorgeous Classic Cinemas in Elsternwick – and on the big screens at Docklands and Federation Square until Sunday 22 March, fashion lovers can take in the colour and style of ten Australian and three international fashion short films on the big screen this March. The Boutique Edition High Tea
