Mambo number 5: 5 things to do this week Bayside!

Local Community

It’s a fine forecast for the southside this week, so what better time to get out brunching, exploring and getting some fresh air?
C&G have compiled a list of five cool things to get up to this week in and around Bayside.

1. Brunch, lunch or wine and dine at Ebenezer Coffee and Wine Bar, Black Rock.

Offering a wine list packed with small-batch offerings from Victoria’s finest producers, along with a tasty all-day menu and Seven Seeds coffee, Ebenezer is a Black Rock hotspot. The brunch menu features twists on classics, while the afternoon menu provides the perfect ‘something to nibble on’ over a glass of their finest Pinot Gris. Open late Thursday to Saturday, it’s the perfect spot for an afternoon coffee to timelessly merge into dusk cocktails.

2. Bayside farmers market

Open on the third Saturday of every month, the Bayside Farmers’ Market is scheduled for this Saturday. From 8am-1pm at Trey Bit Reserve, $2 entry gets you access to hundreds of local sellers of everything from fresh produce to arts and crafts. You’ll also be supporting Hampton and Sandringham Rotary Clubs, and you can grab yourself a hot breakfast while you’re there. Definitely worth getting up early for.

3. Sandringham Village Festival

Next Sunday 25th October welcomes the annual Sandringham Village Festival. Across Melrose, Waltham and Station Streets, live music, children’s activities, attractions and rides and tasty food will fill the festival from 10am-5pm. With many local producers offering a wide range of fresh food and ingredients at the festival, it’s a great chance to connect with and support the local community.

4. Brighton Cemetery 160th Commendation Open Day

Connect with history at the Brighton Cemetery open day to celebrate 160 years since the first burial. There’ll be self-guided walks, timeline discussions, history chats with the Brighton and Glen Eira Historical Societies and a showcase of art from Gardenvale Primary School.

5. Paddle in rock pools at Rickett’s Point, Beaumaris

Nestled in the heart of Beaumaris, Rickett’s point is home to lots of natural rock pools. Catch them at the right time and you could catch a glimpse of starfish, crabs and other marine life. Rickett’s Point Café is also just nearby, so grab a coffee and enjoy the view while you’re there. A great discovery activity for kids to keep them entertained this weekend.
