Hello, Melbourne Music Week

Local Community

Melbourne Music Week (MMW) is almost here, and the line-up features over one hundred stellar shows from almost 250 artists! Between November 11 and 19, many city venues will be alive with the sound of music, and C&G have brought you the highlights to ensure you don’t miss out.

Her Sound, Her Story: Exhibition

Get ready for a visual smorgasbord celebrating a wealth of female musical talent in Australia. Spanning five decades of history, ‘Her Sound, Her Story’ is a photography show located on the ground floor of Emporium Melbourne. Don’t miss the accompanying film screening at the State Library on Saturday, November 12! More on that here.

MPavilion: Twilight Ritual

What does sound look like? Be at the MPavilion in Queen Victoria Gardens at sunset to find out! With a special work by Geoff Nees and J David Franzke and a light show by Bluebottle – Twilight Rituals is set to be a sensory sensation.

Lunchbox Sessions

We think you’ll be onto a winner with these lunchtime line-ups at the State Library of Victoria’s forecourt! If you work in the city, it’s the perfect excuse to pop outside for some sunshine and live music, and with eight different shows including a diverse range of musical styles, there’s bound to be something for everyone.

LOVE LIVE MUSIC at the G

From 2pm until 8pm on Sunday, November 13, the MCG is where it’s at! The Richmond venue is being transformed into a mini music festival, with multiple performers throughout. This includes areas that are normally off limits, like player change rooms. Headliners include The Pierce Brothers and The Delta Riggs. Check out the full line-up here.

The MMW Hub

As one of the city’s biggest cultural events, it was inevitable that the City of Melbourne would team up with some wicked partners – and one of those is Deliveroo! Located at the State Library of Victoria, the MMW Hub features a ‘revolving selection of Melbourne’s best eats,’ not to mention a Coopers Beer Garden and Captain Morgan’s Rum Deck in the forecourt.

Tickets to all Melbourne Music Week events can be purchased via Eventbrite, with more information to be found on the event website here. You’ll find that many of the events are free! Don’t forget to check the weather in advance and pack either sunscreen or an umbrella accordingly (this is Melbourne, folks).
