Local Community

If there’s one to way to win the heart of a Melbournian, it’s through their stomach. Enjoy an introduction to Mexican culture at this Sunday’s irresistible Mexican Festival, held at Federation Square. Replete with mariachi, tacos, tequila and a Mexi-market, no hungry señor and señorita can afford to be elsewhere this weekend. C&G suggest the best of Mexi-fest in today’s blog.

Celebrating El Grito de la Independencia (The Cry of Independence), Melbourne’s Mexican Festival honors Mexico’s independence from Spanish rule in 1810. A family-friendly event with activities for the kids, there’s plenty of joy and good eats to be had – music, singing and even painting and crafting piñatas. Thinking about taking a trip to Mexico? Intrepid Travel will be giving away two ‘Real Food Adventure Tours’ to lucky festival attendees – be in it to win it!

There’s even a high-energy Zumba session to help you work off that last indulgent taco (or three)!
