Theatre

Egg’ is the new production from the Melbourne Theatre Company, showing at The Lawler theatre, Southbank, from June 29. The premise sees two tinkers dragging a giant egg across the desert. They don’t know why they’re dragging it, where they’re going, or from whence it came – but they do know that it’s very important! Written by award-winning writers, featuring professional puppetry and starring comedic actress Genevieve Morris, it’s set to be a whole lot of fun. Get tickets here.

Films

Get down to the Palace Brighton Bay, the Palace Cinema Como,  The Astor Theatre or Jam Factory to catch some flicks with the kids. For all ages, Disney presents Alice Through the Looking Glass, Ice Age: Collision Course and Roald Dahl’s The BFG, while older kids will also enjoy The Angry Birds Movie,  X-Men: Apocalypse and Captain America: Civil War.

Cooking Classes

Itsy Bitsy Chef in Port Melbourne is a kid’s cooking program for ages 4-13. This year, their school holiday program has a ‘Christmas in July’ theme, so kids will be able to enjoy making (and eating) fruit mince pies, gingerbread houses, trifle and of course – pudding! Learn more about Itsy Bitsy Chef’s holiday program here.

An adventure on the Peninsula

Pack the car and head along to the Mornington Peninsula for a fun family day out. There’s heaps of adventurous kids’ activities, from bowling and mini-golf to Ashcombe Maze & Lavender Gardens, and the Enchanted Adventure Garden for tree surfing!

Footy

If they’re into footy, Auskick is the way to go! Help them keep fit, build their team work skills and enjoy Australia’s favourite sport at a range of locations around Bayside. You can register them for the Port Melbourne Colts here, or contact the Elsternwick Auskick Centre at the VAFA Headquarters at Elsternwick Park for training times and registration. Telescopic Viewing Nights

Join the Mornington Peninsula Astronomical Society (MPAS) in learning about the stars and our solar system through telescopic viewings.
