C&G’s Guide to St Kilda Festival 2018

Local Community

The lineup has dropped – St Kilda Festival is back for another year of beachside summer fun. In today’s blog, Chisholm & Gamon round up the best of this year’s program.

Proudly standing as Australia’s largest free music festival, St Kilda Festival takes February by storm, with thousands of music-lovers and families flocking to the St Kilda shores for a day of summer glory. Packed with music performances, activities and installations, this year’s lineup is one of the best yet.

Music

Across the Main Stage, the Alfred Square stage and the O’Donnell Gardens stage, guests can feast their ears on performances from the likes of Bustamento, The Jezabels and Negro. For kids, the well-loved Hi-5 will be performing, alongside Bethany Fisher and The Kazoos. Whether pop’s your thing or you’re a bit of a punk rocker, there’s something for all tastes.

Sports

Ever fancied having a kick-about with the soccer ball while encased in a giant inflatable bubble? Well now you can with Bubble Soccer. If you think you’re the next Michael Jordan, give the Free Throw All-Star a try. The person with the highest score at the end of the festival wins! For live action wrestling, head to the Melbourne City Wrestling Ring to see competitors from across the country, or get stuck into some beach cricket with the Melbourne Stars.

Fitness

Try your hand at dancing at one of the many dance workshops, or shake your hips in the Zumba demo. For yoga with a twist, Jet Sports is laying on a hip hop yoga session on the main stage.

Activities + Workshops

Enjoy traditional fairground attractions at the Carnival zone, like dodgem Cars and slingshot games, or find inflatable slides and teacup rides for smaller thrill-seekers. Strike your best pose at the Channel 9 Married at First Sight photobooth, be mesmerised by aerial circus performances, or get glam at Sparkles Face Painting
