Welcome to Spooktober – we mean October! This month prepare to be thrilled by a live rock ‘n’ roll reunion, treated with a delicious festival of local produce, tricked into cycling Bayside’s famous 100km marathon and terrified by a five-day spooky Halloween event. For all the Bayside action happening in October, Chisholm and Gamon have you covered!

 

 1. The Black Sorrows

Sat 20 Oct, Caravan Music Club – Bentleigh East

After nearly fifty years, The Black Sorrows are still rockin! This dynamic live act features two big sets of groovy tunes with lead Joe Camilleri roaring through a collection of blues, souls and gospel songs.

 

2. The Sandringham Village Festival

Sun 28 Oct, Station Street – Sandringham

Celebrating 10 years, this small-time festival continues to grow every year with 12,000 attending last year. With Bayside traders showcasing and selling fresh produce, support your local community while enjoying a fun-filled day with family and friends.

 

3. Medibank Melbourne Marathon Festival

Sun 14 Oct – St Kilda

Limber up and get ready to run! The Medibank Melbourne Marathon Festival will see you run (or walk!) from Docklands through to St. Kilda and Albert Park, with the final victory lap taking you to the MCG. Participants must register prior to start day.

 

4. Oktoberfest

Fri-Sat, 12-13 Oct – St Kilda

Pretzels, Haus Music, Sauerkraut and a lot of Bier - clink your beer steins, it’s Oktoberfest! With live entertainment, German food trucks, festival activities and rides taking place over two big days, who doesn’t enjoy dressing up and having a bevvy with mates! Tickets selling fast.

 

5. Around The Bay

Sun 7 Oct, Frankston

The famous 100km Frankston return bike ride heads toward Beach Road and Frankston before finishing at the CBD starting point. Ride your way past Bayside icons while enjoying the spectacular coastal views. Whether you rally with the office, your local cycling club or hit the track solo, make sure you register online.

 

6. Spooktober Halloween Festival

Wed- Sun, 31-4 Oct-Nov – St Kilda Town Hall

This spooktacular five-day Halloween event is not for the faint hearted! Featuring two walk-through haunted houses, a trick or treat trail for little zombies, carn-evil games and activities and dead-lectable food trucks, this terrifying festival sounds like a killer good time!
