Local Community

Originating as part of Adelaide Fridge, The Garden of Unearthly Delights is a festival playground filled with fun, culture and activity - and now, it’s coming to Melbourne! Launching as Map 57 and running from June 15-July 30, the festival will be the ultimate Bayside winter destination, and C&G has rounded up all the best bits so you don’t miss a thing.

St Kilda’s Winter Garden, Map 57, will be the ultimate social hang out this winter. Incorporating theatre, dance, culture, comedy, family entertainment, music, activities and even a central park-style ice rink, the colder months have never looked so good. Here’s the highlights:

Ice Skating

Central Park, step aside. St Kilda’s winter ice rink at Map 57 is here to make winter in the southern hemisphere more magical than ever. Book your session online to avoid missing out, and prepare to unleash your inner ice dancer next to the shores of St Kilda.

Funfair

What winter festival would be complete without a traditional funfair? Enjoy nostalgic rides and funfair games for all the family, as you rug up and enjoy the cultural playground of Map 57 under the stars.

Eats + Drinks

With plenty of food truck faves lined up to participate, there’ll be no shortage of tasty treats at the festival. The full line-up will be released soon, so keep your wishlist in mind!

The Funatorium Mad Hatter’s Tea Party

The ultimate school holiday activity, the Funatorium Mad Hatter’s Tea Party runs from June 28 to July 9. Created by Sydney Opera House, the hilarious cabaret for kids is inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, and is packed with exciting tricks, interactive comedy and of course, tons of magic.

How to be a Rockstar

This family comedy show will have the whole family up on their feet, nailing their air guitar and power posing all night long. A fun way to send messages of positivity to children (and adults!), How to be a Rockstar is led by multi award-winning Aussie comedian Tessa Waters, known for her physical comedy and earnest approach to life.

Fiona O’Loughlin

One of the most in demand comedians in the country, Fiona O’Loughlin is bringing her hilarious show to Map 57. Fiona is only with us from July 6-8, so book in quick to avoid missing out. More of an event for the grownups, make a date night of this one and leave little ears at home.
