C&G’s Guide to Beating the January Blues

Local Community

Returning to work after the Christmas break can sometime be a struggle. Getting back into a routine, setting alarm clocks and packing lunches can all feel laborious, but there’s no better place to beat the blues than Bayside. C&G has compiled this guide to getting back to it in January, and beating those New Year blues.

Enjoy a Bayside Sunset

With some of the most picturesque miles of coastline in all of Australia, you can’t go past a Bayside sunset. Watch as the sun ducks behind the city skyline and kisses the shores of Half Moon Bay, Elwood, Brighton and St Kilda with an orange summer glow. Take some time out alone or enjoy the views with loved ones – the balmy summer nights won’t be around forever. Make the most of them while you can. If you’re going solo, use it as some time to reflect and plan the day, week or month ahead. You’ll be able to hit the ground running at work and put those January stresses to bed. Listen to some soothing playlists on Spotify while you’re at it – you’ll be surprised what a mind cleanse can do for your outlook.

Get Social

Often, the January blues are associated with the loss of freedom that comes with the festive season, and the end of family parties, get-togethers and indulgences. Well, we say why stop?! Round up your friends and family for a January summer BBQ at one of Bayside’s best public grilling spots, and make like it’s still Christmas time.

Enjoy the Finest Fish

Bayside is the home of some of Melbourne’s most famous fish and chipperies – and there’s nothing like enjoying them piping hot on the beach. Skip the midweek cooking, give yourself a night off the bikini body plan and treat yourself to some salty, crunchy fish and chips.

Moonlight Movies

January brings with it some of the biggest and best movie releases of the year, but why stick to stuffy cinemas? Until April, the Royal Botanical Gardens are hosting Moonlight Cinema, playing the perfect mix of new releases and classics. Work won’t seem so bad with a movie night locked in, will it?

Sign Up to An Event and Get Active

Sometimes, beating the blues is all about kicking goals. Whether you fancy joining a team sport, playing some summer beach volleyball at Republica St Kilda, or signing up to a run or swim event, you’ll feel motivated and forget about those blues in no time – and where better to get training than Bayside!?

Whenever you’re returning to work, Chisholm & Gamon welcomes you into 2017. Our passionate team looks forward to a bright year ahead for Bayside real estate.
