As Good as It Looks – Taste of Melbourne Food Festival is Here!

Local Community

Over four days this 12th-15th November, Taste of Melbourne celebrates the unique dining culture of the city. Hosted at stunning Albert Park, the festival features top chefs, famous restaurants and the best food and drink producers around. C&G have scoured the highlights, showcasing the best bits for you to feast your senses on.

As one of the foodie hotspots of the world, Melbourne is sure to lay on a good Taste festival. The unique operation of Taste of Melbourne works like a restaurant – you book either the lunch or dinner session, and get stuck into a range of over 50 dishes. Each session lasts 4-5 hours, and you’ll get to taste a vast and plentiful array of the finest food and drink. Choose your ticket wisely – general admission gets you entry and access, while other packages include ‘Crown Currency’, the official Taste of Melbourne dollar. Exchange your crowns for dishes at the stalls. Alternatively, just pay as you scoff.

Restaurants

St Kilda’s Circa, The Prince is a hot favourite at this year’s festival. Their eclectic menu and well-travelled wine list pairs beautifully, created by head chef Ashley Hicks and Sommelier, Laurent Rospars. Don’t leave without trying the Circa Wagon Wheel. Stunning Spanish cuisine comes in all colours with Hosier Lane’s MoVida. Sharing plates and tapas are their speciality, with Flinders Island lamb to die for and sumptuous helando. Cheese and wine meet in harmony at the Milk the Cow venue. Rock up for a four strong cheese-and-wine flight, or grab a handy takeaway cheeseboard to devour on the lawn. Yes, you read that right – takeaway cheeseboard. You can also book master classes and wine tastings with the experts themselves.

Attractions

Aside from tasty restaurant offering, Taste has so much more to offer. From Make Your Own Gin with Bass and Flinders to the South African Garden, serving up regional wines and cuisine, there’s so much to fill your session with. Enjoy live cooking demonstrations with the show’s partner Electrolux in the Taste Theatre, or give Japanese speciality Saké a try at the Saké Bar. Don’t forget to sample a taste of India at the Flavours of India area, and enter the draw to win a trip of a lifetime.
